Location: Kansas City, MO
Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Assistant Director of Plant Operations to support the Regional Director of Plant Operations in managing the maintenance, upkeep, and regulatory compliance of our nursing home facilities in Kansas City, MO. This role plays a key part in ensuring a safe, efficient, and comfortable environment for residents, staff, and visitors.
Responsibilities:
Assist the Regional Director in the development and execution of facility operations strategies .
Oversee daily maintenance operations , including HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and construction projects.
Ensure compliance with CMS , OSHA , life safety codes , and other federal, state, and local regulations.
Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs to reduce downtime and extend equipment lifespan.
Supervise and manage maintenance staff, including recruitment, training, and performance evaluations .
Collaborate with facility administrators on project prioritization, resource allocation, and budget management.
Conduct regular facility inspections and address maintenance concerns proactively.
Maintain effective relationships with vendors, contractors, and suppliers .
Participate in emergency preparedness and disaster response planning.
Track and report on key facility metrics, such as energy usage, water consumption , and maintenance costs.
Support the development of sustainability initiatives and energy efficiency strategies.
Requirements:
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in plant operations or facility management, preferably within healthcare or long-term care environments .
Strong knowledge of building codes , life safety standards , and healthcare regulatory compliance .
Proven leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills .
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and collaborative work environment.
Experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) .
Valid driver’s license (required for multi-site travel).
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with energy management systems and green building initiatives .
Certifications such as CFM (Certified Facility Manager) or FMP (Facility Management Professional) .
Technical expertise in HVAC , plumbing , and electrical systems .
Background in capital projects and construction management .
