The Finance Director for First Quality's Home Care Products will be a business partner to the senior leadership team, peers and other functional groups by supporting strategic decisions, deep insights on where and how to unlock value, and ensure the financial integrity and strategies of the company are followed. Travel is required across various First Quality sites in the US & Canada, as well as some travel for other customer and supplier meetings and conferences. Responsibilities: Participate in management team meetings, influence the decisions and provide strategic direction for operational and financial performance. Manage a team of five professionals Develop and lead performance-based measurement system for business, providing input on the business scorecard Drive and track cost efficiency programs with the extended team, review of overhead costs, materials costs, absorption rates and analysis of variances with action-oriented recommendations for operational improvement Update and enhance pricing models to maximize value between product specs, order quantities and logistics efficiencies Direct preparation of budgets, reviews budget proposals, and prepares necessary supporting documentation and justification. Track and record fixed assets, including timely capitalization of CIP Advise management on desirable operational adjustments due to tax code revisions. Prepare month end close and ensure accuracy and timeliness in the reporting of the financial statements Assist with audits of company’s accounts Prepare reports required by regulatory agencies Education/Experience Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in accounting and/or finance; seven to ten years related experience CMA or CPA preferred Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Hands on: position requires deep curiosity, willingness to engage with all members of the organization, acquire knowledge on processes and procedures, and be very detailed oriented Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret and deal with several abstract and concrete concepts. Experience/Mastery of Accounting, Microsoft Office suite of applications and deep understanding of ERP software (SAP, Oracle) Managing People - Directly supervises local finance team of [four/five?] Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
