Position purpose
The Director of Finance, MSO Services is a senior-level finance professional responsible for overseeing and managing all financial aspects of MSO operations. This individual will serve as the subject matter expert (SME) on the financial structure and economics of the MSO, including Management Services Agreements (MSAs), MSO expense treatment, and cost allocation methodologies.
The role partners closely with corporate department leaders to provide financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and strategic analysis that supports data-driven decision-making. The ideal candidate will bring deep financial acumen, strong analytical skills, and the ability to effectively communicate complex financial concepts to both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks:

Financial Planning & Analysis:
• Lead the annual budgeting and periodic forecasting processes for MSO operations in collaboration with department leaders.
• Prepare and present monthly financial reviews comparing actual performance to budget and forecast.
• Develop and maintain financial models and scenario analyses to support strategic decisions and organizational planning.
MSO Financial Strategy & Governance:
• Serve as the internal subject matter expert on the financial terms and operational implications of Management Services Agreements (MSAs).
• Develop and maintain consistent methodologies for MSO expense classification and allocation across GI Alliance.
• Provide guidance to accounting and finance teams on appropriate treatment of MSO-related costs in accordance with GAAP, MSA agreements, physician compensation requirements, and organizational policies.
Business Partnership & Decision Support:
• Collaborate with corporate function leaders (e.g., HR, IT, Marketing, Compliance) to understand departmental financial needs and identify opportunities for efficiency and performance improvement.
• Support executive leadership in assessing ROI, evaluating strategic investments, and preparing business cases.
• Translate complex financial data into actionable insights for cross-functional teams.
Reporting & Controls:
• Design and maintain MSO-specific financial reports and KPIs to support transparency and accountability across functions.
• Ensure accurate and timely reporting of MSO results and allocations to practices.
• Uphold strong internal controls and ensure compliance with relevant financial and regulatory standards.

Education and Experience:
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, or related field required.
• 7+ years of progressive finance experience, with at least 3 years in a healthcare services, MSO, or multi-entity organization.
• Knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements in healthcare finance and reporting
• Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and variance analysis.
• Expertise in the structure and financial management of MSOs, including cost allocations and MSAs.
• Experience working with physician practices.
• Familiarity with financial systems such as NetSuite, Adaptive Insights, or similar tools.

• Strong understanding of healthcare finance, provider performance metrics, revenue cycle management, and payer dynamics
Equipment Operated: Standard office equipment including computers, fax machines, copiers, printers, telephones, etc.
Work Environment: Work requires hand dexterity for office machine operation, stooping and bending to files and supplies, mobility to complete errands, or sitting for extended periods of time. Occasionally lifting files or paper weighing up to 20 pounds. Occasionally work environment may be very stressful.
Mental/Physical Requirements: Normal office environment. May view computer screens for long periods of time. Occasional evening or weekend work
