Description: This faculty member will report directly to the department chair, work closely with TESOL faculty members, and teach in the on-campus, online, and field-based TESOL programs.  The APU graduate TESOL programs are practically oriented, seeking to prepare teachers for a variety of ESL/EFL positions worldwide.  Please submit all application materials as soon as possible to be considered for an interview.  Rank is commensurate with earned degree and teaching experience.  Position subject to final funding.

Responsibilities:
Teach six graduate TESOL courses per year. Course load may include courses offered in any of the three programs—online, on-campus, and field-based. (See http://www.apu.edu/clas/globalstudies/tesol/online/courses/.)
Direct the online TESOL program, which includes: recruiting, mentoring, and evaluating adjunct faculty; updating and scheduling online courses; overseeing evaluation of final portfolios; and working with various departments to assist with student recruitment, admission, retention, and graduation.
Advise and otherwise assist graduate TESOL students, including service on thesis committees and reviewing portfolios.
Work collaboratively with program faculty to refine and assess the TESOL curriculum.
Participate in departmental and university affairs.
Maintain an active scholarly agenda.
Level: Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor, depending on qualifications and experience.
Qualifications: Preference will be given to candidates who possess the following qualifications:
Earned doctorate in TESOL, Applied Linguistics, International Education, or a closely related field.
Evidence of an authentic Christian faith with the ability to articulate a biblical/theological framework for international/intercultural second language education.
Enthusiastic support for the mission, goals and priorities of the university and the TESOL program.
Evidence of a commitment to build a culture of student and faculty research.
Expertise in the use of technology in language teaching.
Evidence of successful ESL/EFL and graduate level teaching experience.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
A record of activity in relevant professional organizations.
Experience: Preference will be given to candidates who have the following experience:
Teaching online courses.
Directing graduate TESOL programs.
Extensive international, cross-cultural teaching, with achieved proficiency in a second language and culture.
Workload:
Full-time faculty position.

Compensation:
$68,640 to $125,460 is the annual salary for this role and reflects what Azusa Pacific University reasonably expects to pay for this position. Actual compensation may vary based on the qualifications, experience, and internal equity. In addition to compensation, APU offers a competitive benefits package .
Compensation will be based on experience, rank, and qualifications.
