Camp Olson YMCA, a premier youth camp located in the heart of Minnesota’s Northwoods, is seeking a passionate, skilled, and mission-driven Facility Director to join our leadership team. For over 70 years, Camp Olson has inspired youth and families through outdoor adventure, character development, and lifelong friendships. We are committed to maintaining a safe, welcoming, and well-maintained environment for all campers, staff, and guests. With the capacity of 170 resident campers from around the world, you will become a partner creating experiences of a lifetime for our youth and families. A committed board of 16 volunteers and a dedicated staff drive this $2.4 million association with property, buildings and equipment valued at over $15 million.
The Facility Director is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and improvement of all buildings, grounds, vehicles, and equipment on our beautiful 1,350-acre property. This position ensures that Camp Olson’s infrastructure supports high-quality programming and reflects our standards for safety, sustainability, and stewardship.
Qualifications Proven experience in facility maintenance, construction, or a related field (5+ years preferred).
Ability to work non-traditional hours (long days, weekends, holidays).
Strong skills in carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, and general repairs.
Ability to manage projects, staff, and contractors effectively.
Passion for working in a youth-focused, mission-driven environment.
Age 21 or older with a valid driver’s license.
Ability to pass a background check.
Must demonstrate personal values consistent with Camp Olson YMCA
Knowledge of ACA standards and familiarity with YMCA camping is a plus.
Essential Functions Oversee the year-round maintenance of all camp facilities, trails, forestry management and infrastructure.
Develop and implement seasonal maintenance schedules and long-term capital improvement plans.
Supervise and support seasonal maintenance staff and contractors.
Manage the upkeep and safe operation of vehicles, boats, and equipment.
Ensure all facilities meet state and ACA accreditation standards.
Work collaboratively with the Executive Director and program staff to support camp operations and events.
Monitor and manage budgets related to maintenance and facilities.
Develop and maintain community relationship, assist with community events and work with partners to strengthen community relationship.

Required Certifications Demonstrated experience in plumbing, electrical, carpentry, project management.
