About the Role
The Company is seeking an Executive Director to lead its mission of achieving pro-voter electoral reforms. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic plans to meet ambitious objectives in membership growth, education, research, and legislative advocacy. This role requires a passionate leader with a proven track record in political strategy, non-profit leadership, and community development, particularly in the areas of fundraising, public relations, marketing, and advocacy within the state. The Executive Director will also be tasked with driving fundraising efforts, overseeing daily operations, and fostering a culture of learning and innovation.
Applicants for the Executive Director position at the company should have at least ten years of experience in the relevant fields and a Bachelor's degree in political science, marketing, communications, public relations, or a related area. A Master's degree is preferred. The ideal candidate will have a creative approach to outreach, be a people-first leader, and possess an entrepreneurial mindset. They must be dynamic, charismatic, and able to work effectively with a Board of Directors, staff, volunteers, and stakeholders. The role demands exceptional communication skills, the ability to make data-driven decisions, and a commitment to the organization's mission of increasing citizen participation and working towards common-sense solutions. Experience in strategic brand or advocacy campaigns is a plus, and the candidate should be willing to spend significant time in Albany during the Legislative Session and travel statewide as needed.
