Hometown LeMars Heritage Foundation is a 501c(3) with the mission to attract visitors to LeMars and deliver experiences that delight the community and make everyone want to come back for more. The Executive Director will support the vision that LeMars will be known
and loved by all as a must-visit destination.
Role Overview
Hometown LeMars Heritage Foundation is seeking a dynamic and forward-thinking Executive Director to lead the organization. The ideal candidate will be a strategic leader with strong leadership skills, capable of building relationships across public and private sectors while driving key initiatives. As Executive Director, you will oversee organizational operations, ensure financial sustainability, and promote tourism to the city of LeMars.
A Typical Day Might Include
●      Collaboration: Work with city and regional partners on tourism projects and strategic initiatives.
●      Relationship Building: Engage and build strong partnerships between local businesses, government agencies, and civic organizations to foster downtown growth.
●      Metrics & Communication: Develop performance metrics and tracking systems to measure the success of key initiatives and emerging tourism events.
●      Community Engagement: Create opportunities to involve a broad spectrum of stakeholders, from business owners to residents, in shaping the future of tourism.
●      Operational Leadership: Oversee financial operations, organizational development, and Hometown LeMars Heritage Foundation’s long-term sustainability and growth.

●      Strategic Vision: Ability to develop and execute a strategic vision for regional development.
●      Leadership: Demonstrated success in leading cross-functional teams and building high-performing work environments.
●      Advocate: Proven ability to serve as primary advocate for the stewardship and promotion of downtown and the interests of the organization's members, stakeholders and residents.
●      Collaboration: Strong ability to work with diverse stakeholders, including local government, private sector leaders, and community organizations.
●      Ability to manage multiple projects at one time
Requirements ●      Education: Bachelor’s degree required.
●      Experience: Minimum of 5 years in leadership roles, including experience in civic engagement, or a related field.
●      Event Management: Proven experience executing large community events. Experience must include coordination between multiple community organizations and volunteer management.
●      Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, capable of representing Hometown LeMars Heritage Foundation at public and media events.
●      Accountability: Strong track record of financial oversight and resource management to drive organizational sustainability.
●      Must live in LeMars, IA
Benefits $750/ healthcare stipend
