About the Role
The Company is seeking an Executive Director, for a historic institution with deep roots in the region and a strong commitment to hands-on, experiential education. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the Center's strategic growth, financial sustainability, and public engagement. This role demands a visionary and entrepreneurial leader with a proven track record in strategic program growth, fundraising, and stakeholder engagement. While direct equine experience is not mandatory, a passion for horses and transformative education is essential. The Executive Director will be at the forefront of the Center's transformation, shaping its long-term vision, and driving revenue-generating initiatives through philanthropic partnerships, corporate sponsorships, and innovative program development.
Applicants for the Executive Director position should hold a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, with a preference for a Master's degree or higher. The role requires exceptional interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, as well as the ability to lead and inspire cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing budgets, personnel, and multi-faceted programs, and a demonstrated ability to secure philanthropic gifts and corporate sponsorships. Operational oversight, organizational management, and a deep understanding of public higher education are also key components of the role. The Executive Director will work closely with university leadership to ensure the Center's activities align with the institution's mission and values, and will be expected to expand the Center's visibility and impact through public-facing programs and strategic outreach efforts.
