About the Role
The Company is in search of an Executive Director to join its team. The successful candidate will work closely with the Artistic Director to manage all non-artistic operations, oversee the budget, and drive the organization's strategic vision. This role is pivotal in serving as the public face of the organization, enhancing its reputation and visibility within the arts community. Key responsibilities for the Executive Director include leading fundraising initiatives, cultivating donor relationships, and securing diverse income streams. The role also involves financial management, marketing, community engagement, and overseeing administrative and HR functions. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, with a master’s degree preferred, and at least 10 years of relevant experience, including a minimum of 5 years in a senior management or executive director position.
Applicants for the Executive Director position at the company should possess a proven track record in fundraising and financial management, strong leadership and team management skills, and a pragmatic, organized approach to their work. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential, with a commitment to inclusivity and community engagement. Experience in the performing arts, education, or circus organizations is a plus, as is a background in partnering with an artistic director in a leadership role. The role requires a candidate who is flexible and can self-manage to meet the demands of a 7-day-a-week operation. The Executive Director will be expected to collaborate with the Board of Directors and the Artistic Director on strategic planning and to build partnerships within the community.
