Position Summary:
Oak Street Health, a CVS Health Company, is seeking a dynamic and mission-driven Executive Director, Specialty Care Solutions who is a key member of the Specialty Care team and is responsible for leading Oak Street Health’s virtual specialty care strategy and operations as well as the day-to-day operations of RubiconMD (eConsult platform owned by Oak Street/CVS Health). This role will lead sales & marketing, business development, operations, clinical operations, and specialist network strategy for RubiconMD serving Oak Street as the primary customer and addressing the needs of the external marketplace. The Executive Director will play a pivotal role influencing the Oak Street care model via the implementation of eConsults with RubiconMD, leading to medical cost savings and enhanced ability to care for patients. This leader will also leverage this playbook to sell eConsults to the external marketplace.
The eConsult program at Oak Street drives financial outcomes through avoiding unnecessary external specialist utilization, replacing it with asynchronous communication between primary care providers and specialists via electronic health record (EHR) integrations. EConsult programs also drive value through enhancing the primary care providers’ ability to screen, diagnose, and manage high priority chronic conditions. The leader is responsible for coordinating across RubiconMD functions and Oak Street stakeholders to build eConsult programs that maximize value for Oak Street and external clients. This involves defining the strategy and business outcomes, collaborating closely with Product, Engineering, etc. for both Oak Street/external clients and RubiconMD, and coordinating clinical and operational stakeholders across all parties to ensure efficiency, quality, and compliance. He/she will also define the future vision of virtual specialty care for the enterprise, as the program evolves towards direct-to-patient and synchronous delivery of care.
This is a fast-paced, high visibility role to ensure that we are driving innovation in medical cost management through collaboration between Primary Care and Specialty Care providers. These programs are cutting edge in the Value Based Care space and serve as a model for best-in-class integration of Primary and Specialty Care.
This role will report to the VP, Specialty Care and reports up through the Healthcare Delivery organization at CVS Health. They will manage a team of people leaders and will work closely with other leaders across the enterprise.
Core Responsibilities:
Serve as Oak Street Health’s subject matter expert on the integration of Virtual Specialty Care into Primary Care models.
Serve as key strategic and operational leader for eConsults, managing the full RubiconMD P&L and being responsible for driving significant financial impact for the enterprise through top and bottom-line initiatives.
Serve as a member of the Specialty Care Leadership Team consisting of operational and clinical leaders responsible for Specialty Care strategy and execution; being responsible for identifying needs and, where appropriate, standing up virtual specialty programs for other CVS Healthcare Delivery assets (e.g. Minute Clinic, Signify).
Monitor and manage against key performance indicators including eConsult volume, avoided external specialty utilization, enhanced accuracy and specificity of diagnosis, and key outcome measures related to care model impact (e.g. hospital admissions) for Oak Street and other clients where appropriate.
Manage a team of Lead Directors who manage teams supporting each RubiconMD function (sales & marketing, business development, operations, clinical operations, network strategy).
Oversee management of daily operations for eConsult programs, including collaboration across RubiconMD, Oak Street, other CVS Healthcare Delivery assets, and external clients, via Lead Director team members.
Collaborate with VP-level executives across Oak Street Health and CVS Healthcare Delivery to define the future strategy of RubiconMD (i.e. evolution towards direct-to-patient and synchronous care) and execute on this transformation once defined.
Collaborate with Oak Street senior field leadership (Division Presidents, Executive Medical Directors, Chief Medical Officer, Chief Operating Officer) to ensure optimal deployment of eConsults at Oak Street to maximize impact.
Serve as the expert on marketplace trends for virtual specialty care in value-based care.
Leverage knowledge of industry trends in the Specialty space to guide program design.
Required Qualifications:
The candidate will have a strong work ethic, be a self-starter, and be able to be highly productive in a dynamic, collaborative environment. This position offers broad exposure to all aspects of the company’s business, as well as significant interaction with all the business leaders. The candidate will be expected to have the following key attributes:
10+ years of relevant experience, preferably in operations, change management, consulting and/or growth leadership roles.
Experience leading and developing people in large teams. Proven team leadership experience - leadership skills to build high-performing teams, manage and develop talent, influence, and impact a broad set of stakeholders, engage, and inspire others, and lead by example.
Proven leadership experience setting strategic direction, managing complex programs and leading multidisciplinary teams in complex stakeholder environments to drive outcomes and deliverables from inception to completion.
Ability to work independently and maintain flexibility in a fast-paced environment.
Strong facilitative leadership and business problem solving skills are required.
Ability to analyze data and use it to improve care delivery.
Ability to develop structured problem-solving skills to identify root cause of issues and develop recommendations for resolution.
Experience prioritizing competing objectives, meeting deadlines, and effectively communicating updates.
Self-starter with a high level of accountability and responsibility for the outcome of care.
Proven financial acumen, and ability to set strategic direction to achieve budget goals and financial targets.
Highly organized and able to manage multiple priorities appropriately.

Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is:
$131,500.00 - $303,195.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
