Position Description The Head Performance Chef plays a pivotal role in enhancing athlete performance and well-being through culinary excellence. As a key member of the High Performance Department, you will oversee all culinary and kitchen operations, ensuring alignment with performance nutrition strategies and the highest standards of food quality and service. Combining culinary expertise with a deep understanding of sports nutrition, you will oversee the design and delivery of tailored meal plans that optimize athletic performance for the National Teams. Primary Responsibilities Manage a culinary and kitchen team at the Arthur M. Blank Soccer National Training Center. Ensure proper culinary standards and techniques are in place for food preparation, presentation, and service. Maintain staff records, including training, shift checklists, and performance reviews. Manage food budgets through ordering, inventory control, and cost-effective provisioning. Create performance-optimized menus using high-quality, locally sourced ingredients to balance taste, variety, and nutrition. Integrate evidence-based nutritional strategies into training programs, collaborating with sports nutrition, science, and medicine staff. Work with the Head of Nutrition, Performance Chefs, and Heads of Performance to develop personalized meal plans aligned with training objectives. Organize cooking webinars, workshops, and educational sessions to enhance athletes' understanding of nutrition’s role in performance. Assess dietary plan impacts and refine approaches based on ongoing evaluations and scientific advancements. Build strong relationships with clients and guests to improve service quality and foster long-term partnerships. Ensure all culinary operations comply with Soccer Federation, CONCACAF, FIFA, USADA, and WADA regulations. RequirementsMinimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in culinary nutrition, food science, nutrition and dietetics, or related field. Licensure as required by the State of Georgia or the federation's location. At least five (5) years’ experience as a Performance Chef in professional sports or collegiate athletics. At least two (2) years' experience in luxury hotel or resort culinary operations. ServSafe Certification. Deep knowledge of food service quality and safety procedures at federal, state, and local levels. Expertise in sports nutrition, with a commitment to industry trends. Willingness to travel up to 20% of the year. Availability to work non-traditional hours including evenings and weekends. Ability to lift 60 pounds or more. General knowledge of soccer. Ability to work in fast-paced, demanding environments. Capacity to connect micro details to macro vision and mission. Proficiency with Microsoft Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook). Desired Qualifications Master’s degree in clinical nutrition, food innovation, sports nutrition, or related fields. Bilingual in English and Spanish. Current CPR, AED, and First Aid certifications. Passion for soccer. Experience with professional clubs or national governing bodies. Thorough knowledge of Soccer’s mission, goals, policies, and procedures.
