About the Role
The Company is seeking an Executive Director of Curriculum, Instruction, Assessment, and Professional Development to provide strategic leadership in the continuous improvement of educational programs. The successful candidate will be responsible for the planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of the district's curriculum and instruction, assessment, and professional development services. This role requires a Master's degree or higher in a relevant field, Michigan teaching and administrator certification, and a minimum of 5 years' experience in K-12 education, including administrative experience. The Executive Director will be expected to ensure excellence, equity, and access for all students, and to design and implement professional development that advances student achievement and addresses the diverse needs of the student population.
Key responsibilities for the Executive Director include collaborating with colleagues to articulate a clear vision for educational programs, providing culturally responsive leadership, and integrating technology to support curriculum and instruction. The ideal candidate will have a background in educational testing, research, and program evaluation, and experience in data-driven decision-making. They should also be adept at supervising and mentoring educational staff, as well as engaging in the selection of instructional materials through a collaborative process. The role demands a strong understanding of federal and state educational mandates, and the ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders. The Executive Director will work closely with the Chief Academic and Innovation Officer to ensure that all educational initiatives align with the district's goals and comply with relevant regulations.
