About the Role
The Company is seeking an Executive Director of Alternative Programs to provide visionary leadership and operational oversight for its diverse educational offerings. The successful candidate will be responsible for the strategic planning, daily operations, and continuous improvement of all alternative education programs, ensuring high-quality instruction, student achievement, and compliance with regulatory requirements. This role involves supervising and evaluating program staff, leading program alignment efforts, and promoting a culture of high expectations, equity, and academic success. The Executive Director will also be tasked with fostering safe and supportive environments, guiding re-entry planning for students, and collaborating with various departments to integrate counseling and therapeutic services.
Candidates for the Executive Director position must have a Master’s degree in educational leadership, administration, or a related field, and a valid South Carolina certification in secondary administration or the ability to obtain one. Experience in school or program leadership, particularly in alternative education, is preferred. The role requires strong leadership, decision-making, and interpersonal communication skills, as well as the ability to manage complex educational systems and diverse programs. Proficiency in data analysis, budgeting, educational law, and program evaluation is essential, along with a commitment to equity, inclusion, and trauma-informed education practices. The Executive Director will also be responsible for fiscal and resource management, including the development and monitoring of program budgets and the coordination of external partnerships.
