Job Description
The Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Specialist will support the development and execution of EHS compliance programs. This role involves developing and enhancing compliance and risk management processes, driving performance improvement, and integrating EHS into daily operations. The specialist will support the implementation of environmental, health, and safety programs aligned with global policies, ensuring compliance with regulatory and internal standards.
Responsibilities
Support the development and implementation of EHS compliance programs.
Communicate and train stakeholders to ensure compliance with regulatory and internal standards.
Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders to determine best practices for achieving compliance.
Conduct investigations of working conditions to prevent occupational diseases and industrial health hazards.
Promote EHS awareness through effective employee communications and participation.
Serve as a key point of contact for safety and environmental issues.
Support regulated waste management, including consolidation and inspections.
Conduct compliance tasks such as storm water sampling, waste inspections, chemical inventory, and life safety audits.
Execute compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and customer requirements.
Conduct EHS audits, develop action plans to resolve findings, and implement countermeasures.
Perform risk assessments related to jobs and new processes and equipment.
Essential Skills
Experience in EHS support, especially in warehousing.
Knowledge of OSHA regulations, specifically 29 CFR 1910.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
Ability to maintain confidentiality in security and personnel matters.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or higher in industrial hygiene, occupational health, environmental engineering, environmental science, or a related field, or relevant experience.
1+ years of experience in EHS support.
Manufacturing plant experience.
Knowledge of EHS regulations and risk assessment.
Work Environment
The role requires the ability to lift up to 49 pounds and stand/walk for up to 10 hours. It is based in Redmond and involves working nights on a back half schedule (Wednesday to Saturday) from 4pm to 2:30am. The candidate must be willing to work flexible shifts, including days, nights, and weekends.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $65.00/hr.
