Emergency Services Director – Blue Ridge Medical Center

Overview:

The Emergency Services Director oversees the operations of the Emergency Department (ED) to ensure high-quality, efficient, and patient-centered care. Reporting to the Chief Nursing Officer, this role involves leadership, strategic planning, budget management, compliance, and staff coordination.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage ED staff, fostering a collaborative work environment.
  
• Oversee daily ED operations, ensuring efficient patient flow and resource utilization.
  
• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and implement quality improvement initiatives.
  
• Manage departmental budgeting and financial performance.
  
• Collaborate with hospital departments and external agencies to enhance patient outcomes.
  
• Function as a staff nurse when needed.
  

Qualifications:

• Education: Associate’s degree in Nursing (BSN preferred).
  
• Experience: 5+ years of hospital-based emergency nursing, 3+ years in leadership.
  
• Licensure & Certifications: RN license (GA), BLS/ACLS/PALS (or ENPC), CEN or CEM preferred.
