Additional requirements include: Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a stressful environment. Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire. ACLS certification is required. Handle with Care Training within 90 days of employment. Department/Unit Summary Oversee departmental operations by developing goals and standards aligned with organizational, clinical, legal, and ethical requirements. Manage patient care delivery, staffing, budgeting, audits, and complaint resolution to meet performance and quality objectives. Lead hiring, training, and staff development while fostering a culture of professional growth. Ensure integration of evidence-based practices and monitor ER metrics to implement improvement strategies. Our Emergency Department (ED) consists of a 19-bed unit with a 1:4 nurse to patient ratio.
