Drywall Director

The Drywall Director will serve as the senior leader responsible for the planning, execution, and management of drywall operations across multiple projects. This role requires a strong balance of strategic leadership, technical expertise, and hands-on field oversight. The Drywall Director will collaborate closely with project teams, clients, and trade partners to ensure successful delivery while driving efficiency, quality, and safety.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage the drywall division, including project managers, field supervisors, and crews.
Oversee all phases of drywall construction on commercial projects from preconstruction through closeout.
Develop and implement operational strategies, budgets, and performance goals.
Monitor project progress, schedules, and financial performance to ensure profitability.
Establish and enforce quality control and safety standards.
Build and maintain strong client and subcontractor relationships.
Provide mentorship, training, and professional development for division staff.
Collaborate with executive leadership on business development and market growth opportunities.
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Building Science, Engineering, or related field required.
Maters degree in Business Administration preferred.
10+ years of drywall/construction management experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
Proven track record overseeing drywall operations on large-scale commercial construction projects.
Strong knowledge of drywall systems, installation methods, and industry best practices.
Advanced knowledge of the construction industry and specific client market required.
Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to manage budgets, schedules, and large teams effectively.
Availability and ability to travel.
Typical Physical Needs
Requires prolonged sitting, some bending, stooping and stretching. Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator and other office equipment. Requires normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare and communicate appropriate reports. May need to climb stairs, ladders and/or scaffolding and lift up to 30 lbs.
