Overview Position: Director-Philanthropy
Location: Phoenix, AZ Department: PCHF | Foundation Shift: Mon-Fri, Days, 8am-5pm Employment Type: Full-Time Posting #: 943899
Position Summary This position will lead and manage a team of 5 philanthropy officers. With frontline focus, the Director will be a seasoned major gifts fundraiser responsible for securing gifts with an emphasis on $100,000 and above. This position reports to the Vice President, Individual Giving.
Responsibilities
Leadership and Team Management: Lead and manage a team of 5 philanthropy officers; train, manage, and mentor the philanthropy officer team in principal and major gifts; develop and manage timelines for fundraising activities; meet annual activity and financial performance metrics for the team.
Fundraising: Manage a portfolio of 50-75 major/principal gifts prospects with emphasis on gifts of $100,000 and above; develop and implement cultivation, solicitation and stewardship plans; build and manage a Philanthropic Advisory Board; ensure regular donor contact; identify and develop joint major giving opportunities; develop expertise in hospital Centers of Excellence and service lines; serve as foundation liaison for capital and programmatic funding needs; meet portfolio goals.
Qualifications
Education : Bachelor’s degree in related field required; Master’s degree, CFRE and experience in a medical or academic development setting preferred.
Experience : Minimum of 10 years in fundraising, development or nonprofit environment; proven success in securing principal gifts from individuals (including gifts of $1M and above); experience hiring, planning, training, managing and mentoring staff; track record of building long-term philanthropic relationships and meeting fundraising goals.
Special Skills : Entrepreneurial spirit; strong written and oral fundraising communications; ability to present to external audiences; influencing; collaboration; relationship building.
