Lead strategic and operational oversight for key individual underwriting product lines, ensuring accurate and efficient underwriting decisions and new business processing across designated distribution channels. Estimated Salary: $120,000 - $165,000 base, plus annual bonus opportunity.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Provide strategic leadership and oversight of underwriting operations, including workforce planning, staffing, performance management, and employee development to ensure an engaged, high-performing team aligned with corporate diversity and inclusion goals.
Drive sound risk selection by establishing and enforcing effective underwriting policies and practices across both standard and impaired risk cases, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and regulatory compliance.
Oversee financial performance of the underwriting area, ensuring cost-effective operations, managing budgets, and achieving time service and profitability targets.
Ensure quality and efficiency in underwriting decisions and service delivery, implementing process improvements that enhance policyholder satisfaction, wholesaler loyalty, and persistency.
Lead reinsurance partnerships, negotiating contracts and financial arrangements to align with business needs, while ensuring appropriate risk sharing and underwriting consistency.
Champion training and development, overseeing the creation of underwriting manuals, staff training programs, and field office education on medical advancements, risk evaluation, and industry changes.
Foster cross-functional collaboration with sales, actuarial, claims, and medical teams to align underwriting strategies with product development, business goals, and industry best practices.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING:
Extensive expertise in standard and impaired risk underwriting, with deep knowledge of distribution channels, insurance products, and evolving industry practice
Strong leadership and team management skills, proven in high-performance, fast-paced environments with a focus on results and accountability.
Broad industry insight, including product development, regulatory compliance, reinsurance, MIB programs, and brokerage relationships.
Excellent strategic planning and project execution abilities, with a track record of aligning underwriting operations to business goals.
Exceptional communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills, enabling effective collaboration across internal teams and external partners.

Able to work remotely with access to a high-speed internet connection and located in the United States or Puerto Rico
