We are seeking a highly creative and detail-oriented professional with a strong foundation in the learning sciences to lead the development and delivery of training, education, and informational content about a wide range of products, services, and social impact initiatives. This role is responsible for driving the strategy and roadmap for business-specific learning experiences that support organizational goals and mission. The ideal candidate will demonstrate expertise in modern instructional design, multimedia delivery, and learner engagement. They will collaborate with diverse internal and external stakeholders, balancing individual needs and competing priorities to create impactful educational solutions. Responsibilities include assessing learning requirements, designing learner-centric experiences, selecting appropriate delivery modalities, and overseeing deployment through learning management systems (LMS). This position also includes oversight and management of direct reports, and coordination with partner companies, their employees, and omni-channel distribution outlets to ensure consistent and effective education across all platforms. Responsibilities
Drives the strategy and roadmap for business-specific learning. Works with many partners, manage individual needs and identify competing requirements. Acquires deep knowledge of the AARP Brand and the numerous products, services, and social impact agendas to identify training and education opportunities which will help others to advance our Mission and Vision. Uses knowledge of modern instructional design, multimedia delivery or other related background to drive experiences that are meaningful for varied types of learners. Assesses the educational needs and requirements of internal and external users. Oversees the design of learning experiences and identify the modality of delivery Works with stakeholders, user groups and LMS vendor(s) where applicable, to deploy educational experiences and monitor results. Provides oversight and management of direct reports. Qualifications
Bachelor's degree. Minimum of 8 years of progressive experiencein designing, delivering, and managing training programs, with at least 4 years in a leadership or team management role. Proven track record in developing enterprise-wide training strategiesthat enhance employee engagement, improve performance, and support organizational goals. Experience leading training initiativesacross various formats, including cohort-based programs, self-paced modules, and instructor-led sessions. Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret training data and performance metrics to shape strategy and evaluate program effectiveness. Demonstrated ability to lead and develop high-performing teams, fostering collaboration and innovation in training design and delivery. Effective in consulting with internal stakeholders, assessing training needs and translating them into targeted learning solutions. Skilled in managing vendor relationships and cross-functional teams, including instructional designers and project managers, to deliver scalable and impactful training programs.
