Overview Director, Technical Program Management (TPM) within Acquisitions, Customer Management & Segments (ACMS) in Card Technology. You will own technical programs that help build delightful experiences for our customers. Some programs will be highly awaited new features, while others will be foundational initiatives focused on resiliency, efficiency, and related areas. You will also contribute to expanding the TPM discipline within the team through your industry knowledge and leadership. About the team ACMS is an organization within Card Technology that manages the platform responsible for acquisitions—including pre-approved offers and counter-offer journeys—and the Customer Management systems used after account opening. We also manage several products across the Capital One business, such as the CreditWise App and the Secured Card product. Responsibilities Own technical programs that deliver on critical business goals and build scalable platforms, products, or services. Lead a world-class team of technical program managers and drive real-time, intelligent experiences for customers and associates. Lead technology-focused discussions with senior leadership, providing insights and recommendations to guide decisions. Collaborate effectively with product, engineering, design, and data science teams; simplify complex technical concepts to inform well-educated decisions. Demonstrate execution with accountability, follow-through, and measurable results. Foster cross-team collaboration across functions, organizations, and reporting boundaries. Mentor and develop TPMs, laying the foundations for a growing TPM practice. Advance the TPM discipline within the team by sharing best practices and industry knowledge. Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s degree At least 7 years of experience managing technical programs Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field MBA or Master’s degree in a related technical field or equivalent experience 7+ years designing and building data-intensive solutions using distributed computing 3+ years building distributed systems and highly available services using cloud computing (preferably AWS) 3+ years building and leading a TPM team 3+ years building highly scalable mobile products & platforms 3+ years of Agile delivery experience 3+ years delivering large and complex programs with cross-functional teams and clear business/technical vision 3+ years building systems and solutions in highly regulated environments Note: At this time, Capital One will not sponsor a new applicant for employment authorization or offer immigration-related support for this position. The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based on hours worked. Chicago, IL: $205,400 - $234,400; McLean, VA: $226,000 - $257,900; Plano, TX: $205,400 - $234,400. Candidates hired in other locations will be paid based on the applicable local range. This role is eligible for performance-based incentives (cash bonuses and/or long-term incentives).
