Hitachi Energy is seeking a Director Supply Chain Management - North America. This is a remote based role. The role will be the strategic leader directing all facets of supply chain management for Hitachi Energy’s Service BU across all US and Canadian sites. This pivotal cross-functional leadership role encompasses purchasing, logistics, inventory management, material forecasting, capacity planning, sourcing, master scheduling, and financial costing for materials support . The role will ensure the supply chain operates at peak performance, minimizes risk, and consistently contributes to our world-class customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
· Team Leadership & Development: Provide decisive leadership and operational oversight to a team of experienced professional buyers, category managers, and supervisors who autonomously manage supply chain functions across various Service Units in the US and Canada.
· Strategic Leadership & Oversight: Direct all purchasing and planning activities, including expediting and optimizing stock levels (min/max). Manage overall inventory and establish robust controls to ensure the business operates at the highest level of performance, driven by key metrics and minimized supply chain risk.
· Global Collaboration: Actively participate in and lead global efforts related to write-offs, inventory management, and functional, global A3 problem-solving initiatives.
· Performance Measurement & Reporting: Establish and track key metrics to measure overall Supply Chain performance. Analyze and report on promotions and stocking requests. Serve as an internal subject matter expert on all reporting tools and metrics, producing and distributing daily, weekly, and monthly reports and dashboards.
· Innovation & Process Improvement: Drive innovation and experimentation to uncover and implement new best practices across the entire supply chain. Actively participate in and lead process improvement projects, including the creation of standard work, to embed continuous improvement into our core work strategy.
· S trategic Development: Develop comprehensive strategies, policies, procedures, and build a high-performing team to optimize the value of the entire function, creating a world-class materials management group.
Qualifications
· Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
· Experience:
o Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in materials management or procurement, with at least 3 years in a leadership role .
o Demonstrated experience and a solid understanding of ERP systems (preferably SAP) within a manufacturing and distribution environment.
o Advanced capability in balancing procurement, inventory management, and customer satisfaction within ERP system settings.
· Certifications: CSCP (Certified Supply Chain Professional) or CPIM (Certified in Production and Inventory Management) certification is preferred.
