Overview

Director, Statistics - Statistical Innovation (Office-based) role at AbbVie. The position provides scientific and statistical leadership to lead or collaborate on clinical development and Data Statistical Sciences (DSS) initiatives, especially those using advanced statistical methodology, predictive modeling and machine learning. Responsibilities

Lead and drive modeling and simulation capabilities in AbbVie's statistical innovation group. Leverage state-of-the-art modeling and simulation techniques to propose, evaluate and optimize clinical trial designs in terms of time, cost and probability of success. Collaborate with study teams and other functions to evaluate population feasibility, IC/EC impact, patient diversity and other operational insights at the design stage. Collaborate with study teams and other functions to evaluate state-of-art scientific statistical designs using modeling and simulation. Collaborate with Clinical Pharmacology on QSP and MIDD related activities. Build and maintain external reputation and influence in the industry through presentations, invited talks and peer-reviewed publications. Qualifications

Ph.D. in statistics, biostatistics or related field with at least 10 years of related work experience. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Excellent leadership skills and ability to collaborate with discipline experts and leaders across functions. Passionate about modeling and simulation, innovation, and thinking creatively beyond the status quo. Strong publication records highly desired. Demonstrated expertise in advanced statistical modeling and simulation. Proficiency in development, implementation and rollout of statistical tools and techniques using R, R-Shiny, Python, Julia, etc., to operationalize innovative methodologies.
