Director of SRE and IT Operations Are you a visionary leader with a passion for resilience, automation, and innovation? MAPFRE USA is seeking a dynamic Director of Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) and IT Operations to architect and drive our infrastructure strategy into the future.

About the Role Reporting to the SVP of IT Infrastructure, you’ll lead the charge in transforming our hybrid environment—spanning legacy and modern applications, on-prem and cloud—into a resilient, efficient, and forward-thinking ecosystem. You’ll oversee SRE strategy, IT operations, end-user support, devices, and datacenter operations, while building a high-performing team and fostering cross-organizational alignment.
What You’ll Do Lead Strategy & Execution : Define and implement a comprehensive SRE and operations roadmap aligned with business goals.
Build & Inspire Teams : Cultivate a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and engineering excellence.
Drive Innovation : Champion cloud adoption, automation, and reusable solutions to reduce IT expense ratios.
Collaborate & Influence : Engage with senior stakeholders, negotiate vendor contracts, and manage multi-functional teams.
Governance & Risk : Establish strong governance, track operational metrics, and ensure business continuity.
What You Bring 9–11 years of experience (or Master’s + 7–9 years) in IT operations and SRE leadership.
Expertise in cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred), infrastructure as code, and resilience patterns.
Strong understanding of network, security, disaster recovery, and virtualization technologies.
Proven ability to manage hybrid environments and large-scale programs, especially in the P&C insurance space.
Executive presence with a knack for strategic decision-making and stakeholder engagement.
Bonus Points Passion for automation and innovation.
Experience with IT governance, compliance, and onboarding/offboarding procedures.
Ability to build scalable, reusable solutions and prioritize roadmaps across teams.
Familiarity with IT expense tracking and optimization.
