ABOUT THE ROLE
The Director of Shared Services is a key role which oversees centralized finance functions to enhance service delivery, improve efficiency and reduce costs. Key responsibilities include developing strategic plans, implementing best practices, managing performance of large teams, ensuring compliance, and fostering strong cross-departmental relationships to meet organizational goals. This role is responsible for leading core functions such as accounts payable, payroll and accounts receivable. The ideal candidate for this role is a proven strategic leader who has experience leading through change, supporting significant growth, and improving financial shared services by focusing on people, processes, technology, data and success measures.

Essential Functions
Manage the day-to-day operations of shared service functions, ensuring high-quality service delivery and adherence to service level agreements (SLAs)
Oversee budgets, manages financial processes including accounts payable, payroll and accounts receivable, and analyzes financial metrics to drive efficiencies and optimize resource allocation
Ensure shared service strategies support organizational goals by establishing, measuring and managing to KPI’s and maintaining transparency with leadership on financial and operational performance
Analyze current processes, identifies inefficiencies, and implements improvements and automation to enhance operational performance, accuracy and control
Guide the evaluation, implementation, and optimization of financial systems and integrations, with an emphasis on automation and continuous improvement
Drive process improvements, re-engineers workflows, balances workloads and embeds industry best practices to enhance overall efficiency
Build, develop, and lead large teams, fostering collaboration, professional growth and strong communication across the organization
Work closely with senior management, decentralized business units, and other support functions to align strategies, support initiatives, and foster a culture of collaboration
Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, policies, and manages contractual risks
Oversee standard operating procedures across accounts payable, payroll and accounts receivable to ensure adherence to SOX compliance, internal control frameworks, GAAP standards, and applicable regulatory requirements
Evaluate, help select, and manage relationships with external vendors, negotiating contracts and monitoring performance to ensure quality service delivery

Essential functions of this position are to be performed in a Company-designated office or field location

ABOUT YOU
Qualifications
Minimum of ten years’ experience in accounting, finance, or similar field
Minimum of ten years’ experience leading and managing teams
Experience with JDE Enterprise 1 preferred
Experience with workflow and automation technologies preferred
Experience leading hybrid of centralized and decentralized shared services preferred
Construction industry experience preferred
Preferred Education
Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting or related field
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Strong knowledge of GAAP, internal controls and financial reporting
Proficient in computer software programs such as Excel, ERP, and workflow/automation technologies
Experience understanding and implementing best practice master data management methods
Excellent organizational and leadership skills
Track record of driving continuous improvement through people, process, technology and data-driven decision-making
Track record of successfully developing leaders and coaching teams to high performance
A change agent with strong change management experience in a hybrid centralized/ decentralized environment
Ability to work collaboratively and build trust across an organization
Familiarity with “timely, accurate, reliable” customer/stakeholder service orientation
Strong critical thinking skills
Ability to synthesize large datasets to provide actionable, forward-looking insights for senior management and experience communicating powerful stories leveraging large datasets
Advanced knowledge of accounting and financial principles
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Demonstrated resilience and persistence
Ability to travel, less than 20%

Compensation & Benefits
Salary $,-$,/year Commensurate with experience, paid weekly. Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. MYR Group reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the qualifications of the selected candidate.
Two days per week remote work option for non-field roles depending on position and performance.
