Summary: The Director of Security is responsible for leading and overseeing all aspects of security operations across a designated Children's Health hospital market. This senior leadership role involves developing and executing strategic security initiatives that ensure the safety and protection of patients, visitors, staff, and organizational assets. The Director is accountable for establishing and maintaining comprehensive security policies and procedures, managing and mentoring security personnel, and fostering collaboration with other departments to integrate security into broader operational workflows. In addition, the Director conducts risk assessments at designated facilities, leads security emergency preparedness efforts, and oversees incident response and recovery processes. This role requires a deep understanding of healthcare security along with strong leadership and communication skills to promote a culture of security, compliance, and continuous improvement throughout the organization.
Responsibilities:
In conjunction with senior leadership, administers and directs all departmental activities within assigned areas of responsibility, including, but not limited to, daily operations, team engagement, team structure, team priorities, and performance management. Develops, tracks, and maintains operational performance metrics for Security in assigned area of responsibility to ensure the highest quality service is provided at all times. Maintains professional growth and development through attendance at seminars, workshops, and/or professional affiliations to keep abreast of the latest techniques, technologies, and developments in Security. Responsible for financial stewardship/budget for assigned area of responsibility. Plans and implements growth and development opportunities for team members. WORK EXPERIENCE At least 7 years leadership experience in security, law enforcement or military required; at least 5 years healthcare experience; demonstrated ability to effectively work with law enforcement preferred EDUCATION Four-year Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS Texas Department of Public Safety - Texas Private Security Bureau Registration - Non-Commissioned Security Officer training and certification 180 Days required
• Certified Healthcare Protection Administrator (CHPA) preferred
