Director – SAP Portfolio and Release Management

The Position
We are seeking a highly motivated Portfolio and Release Manager to join our team managing an SAP ecosystem. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the planning, coordination, and execution of portfolio and release management activities to ensure the timely delivery of high-quality SAP solutions. This role requires strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills, as well as a deep understanding of SAP systems and project management methodologies.
Responsibilities Develop and implement portfolio and release management strategies for the SAP ecosystem.
Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including IT, business units, and external vendors, to ensure successful delivery of SAP projects.
Manage the release schedule, ensuring alignment with business priorities and resource availability.
Oversee the planning, testing, and deployment of SAP releases, including patches, upgrades, and new implementations.
Monitor and track project progress, identifying and addressing any risks or issues that may impact delivery timelines.
Ensure compliance with organizational policies, standards, and best practices for portfolio and release management.
Provide regular status updates and reports to senior management and stakeholders.
Continuously improve portfolio and release management processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Manage the approval of funding for new projects, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and budget constraints.
Required Education, Experience and Skills Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
Minimum of ten years of experience in portfolio and release management, with a focus on SAP systems.
Strong understanding of SAP modules, architecture, and integration points.
Proven experience managing complex SAP projects and releases.
Excellent project management skills, with a certification such as PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent preferred.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Experience and Skills Experience with Agile and DevOps methodologies.
Knowledge of ITIL frameworks and best practices.
Familiarity with SAP Solution Manager and other SAP management tools.
Experience in a similar industry or business environment.

Annualized Salary Range (US)
$138,200.00 - $234,900.00 Please Note: Pay Ranges are Specific to local market and therefore vary from country to country
