ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Under the general supervision of the Director of Programming, the Director of Roundtable will be responsible for all aspects of the daily program operations and nutritional services including program development plans and the implementation of classes/activities for active adults 60 & over, who attend the senior center. An essential part of the role includes providing program direction and staff/volunteer supervision. Specific duties and responsibilities include:
Oversee and manage the operation, growth, and development of the Roundtable Senior Center i.e. program development, staff supervision, budget oversight, and organizational compliance along with funder requirements
Ensure professional and comprehensive client services are provided by staff through effective leadership and direction
Hire, train, and professionally manage top-quality program staff. Ensure that staff meets funding source requirements regarding qualifications and ongoing training
Train and evaluate staff as required by the agency
Maintain professional standards in all aspects of work, including direct service, tracking and follow-up, professional development, documentation, and supervision
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with community partners
Effectively carry out all recreational programs, activities, services, and special events
Plan and supervise staff and consultants in carrying out health promotion and educational/ recreational activities that are appropriate and meet the various interests and needs of the center population
Develop new and innovative programs, activities, and services to meet the ever-changing needs of the members
Develop Evidence Programming that meets the funding requirements for Evidence Programs and Outcomes
Collaborate with outside organizations, universities, and healthcare institutions to partner in programming and boost involvement and understanding of senior healthcare needs
Ensure that all staff receives training as required by the program funding source
Coordinate menu planning with HDML Director in accordance with funding source guidelines and menus that meet the needs of the program participants
Ensure staff involved in food preparation handle food in a safe and sanitary manner in partnership with the HDML Director
Plan and implement outreach efforts that ensure that isolated or underserved populations are identified and that services are consistent with community needs
Build and maintain strong relationships with local health and social service organizations
Prepare to challenge, yet achievable, program plans and budgets
Manage revenue and expenses within the approved budget and prepare payment requests and vouchers
Ensure the preparation of all funding source requirements for recordkeeping and reporting
Ensure documentation of all daily service units is stored and maintained in the funding source required database and monthly reporting of service units are tied to the database
Direct staff and coordinate with other organizations to handle crises and implement plans for disaster preparedness
Attend community meetings, prepare reports, and attend RiseBoro Board of Directors meetings, as required
Meet regularly with the Senior Advisory Committee and other committees, as needed
Other duties as required by the Director or the organization
COMPETENCIES
Strong organizational and managerial skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability to present/communicate calmly with self-awareness as a leader
Experience planning, organizing, and implementing recreation programs and services
Ability to multitask and manage the coordination of several projects simultaneously
Highly self-motivated, creative, independent, and flexible
Experience working in a Social Adult Day facility, Caregiver Services, or seniors exhibiting frailty, dementia, etc. a plus
Knowledge of coordination with Managed Long-Term Care Programs is a plus
Cultural competency knowledge for adapting services to the needs of the changing senior population is preferred
Strong human and public relations skills; interest and ability to work with senior citizens and volunteers
Ability to think critically and use sound judgment
Ability to stay professional under stressful situations and maintain confidentiality
Proficient with Microsoft Office, and working with funding source database systems preferred

Ability to understand the concepts of institutional and structural racism and bias and their impact on underserved and underrepresented communities
Commitment to supporting communities who have experienced systemic oppression and bias (i.e. people of color, LGBTQ+ people, immigrants, justice-involved persons, etc.)
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
MSW or related master's degree, with a minimum of one (1) year of experience in supervising staff; implementing/running programs and/or groups with clients; experience in program or service development (Internship experience is acceptable);
Bachelor's degree in human services with a minimum of two (2) years of experience;
Associate degree with a minimum of three (3) years of experience;
High School Diploma or GED equivalent with a minimum of five (5) years of experience
