This opportunity is for a full-time Director of Risk Management.
At Old Vineyard Behavioral Health Services, we are helping to create brighter, healthier futures for our patients and their families. We are the Piedmont Triad's only private psychiatric hospital meeting the chemical dependency illnesses and behavioral healthcare needs of those in our community.
Our -bed inpatient services for adolescents through senior adulthood offers comprehensive and individual assessments, psychiatric evaluation and medication stabilization, daily group therapy and personalized aftercare planning. We also offer a Partial Hospitalization and Intensive Outpatient Treatment Program to ensure the continuum of care for our patients. Old Vineyard is accredited by The Joint Commission and certified by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.

Our ideal candidate will possess strong multitasking skills, great communication skills with the ability to engage positively with patients, staff, families, providers, etc., must work well under pressure with several competing priorities and maintain professionalism at all times.
What does the do at Old Vineyard Behavioral Health Services?
The Director of Risk Management oversees the hospital-wide risk management program with a broad responsibility to protect the hospital’s assets from loss. This role is responsible for coordinating the loss control efforts and advising management and administration on all potential sources of loss and for making recommendations to minimize or eliminate exposure. The Director of Risk Management acts as the hospital's Compliance Officer and coordinates with the Director of Quality & Performance Improvement on hospital-wide action plans and corrective actions. The structure and functions of the position are designed so as to comply with guidelines and standards of the Joint Commission, CMS, and other regulatory agencies. Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in a healthcare-related field. RN or Master’s degree in healthcare-related field preferred. Training in healthcare compliance activities and healthcare safety/risk management preferred.
Experience: Five (5) years’ experience in risk management in a hospital setting. Three (3) years’ management experience. Experience must include knowledge of healthcare regulatory standards.
Licensure/Certification: Current Registered Nurse License by Board of Nurse Examiners for the State of North Carolina or a fully licensed mental health professional (LCSW, LPC, or LMFT). Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) in lieu of license.
Knowledge/Skills:
Demonstrated knowledge and expertise in the application of regulatory standards established by NC DHHS, The Joint Commission and CMS applicable to acute care hospitals.
Able to work collaboratively, diplomatically, and with integrity in problem identification, project management, and problem solving activities.
Demonstrated knowledge of ethical principles and compliance issues in a healthcare setting.
Demonstrated basic understanding of medical terminology.
Strong facilitation skills with proven ability in leading and facilitating teams to desired outcomes.
Effective interpersonal skills necessary to cultivate relationships with key stakeholders and communicate, facilitate, and negotiate with a wide variety of healthcare personnel and external constituents.
Demonstrated ability to manage by influence in a consultative role.
Ability to work independently, exercise appropriate action and good business judgement.
Demonstrates the ability to execute strategies based on hospital priorities.
Ability to lead and motivate individuals and groups toward the accomplishment of organizational goals.
Demonstrates initiative, flexibility, integrity and diplomacy.
Proficient in the use of Microsoft applications (such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience with database systems.
