Develop new relationships and maintain/expand existing client relationships in core healthcare real estate markets and help expand business in new healthcare sub-sectors.
Responsibilities:
Independently originate new relationships and support Business Leader in retaining and growing existing client relationships in core healthcare real estate markets to achieve loan and deposit growth goals and meet asset quality and profitability metrics.
Lead the origination effort and presentation of effective financing proposals to existing and prospective clients.
Support Business Leader with development and execution of a business plan to expand product offering and lending activity in new healthcare sub-sectors that compliment core healthcare real estate business.
Lead all aspects of transaction management from initial pitch to underwriting to closing with deal team, product partners, and operations colleagues and manage implementation of banking products with client to ensure seamless execution.
Exercise sound credit judgment consistent with Webster credit policies and risk appetite and business unit strategy; coordinate with senior portfolio managers/underwriters in evaluating the creditworthiness of clients and transaction merits.
Lead credit approval discussions with Credit Committee and oversee preparation of high quality, detailed credit approval documents containing in-depth analysis of the transaction, customer, industry, and market fundamentals underlying key underwriting issues and risks.
Coordinate with senior portfolio managers in managing portfolio relationships and to ensure appropriate resources are dedicated to support delivery of all banking services; demonstrate the ability to form trusted and consultative relationships with clients.
Contribute to business unit profitability through origination and risk management of high-quality loans; responsible for overall relationship profitability.
Ensure compliance with all bank regulations, credit policies, and compliance
Education, Skills & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance; MBA preferred
10 plus years in commercial banking, commercial finance, private credit
Strong commercial lending experience, formal credit training and business development experience
5+ years Healthcare industry experience
Proven ability to originate and cultivate client relationships
