Red Bull Records is a comprehensive independent record label committed to the long-term development of artists, featuring a diverse range of genres. The Director of Publicity & Communications will be responsible for overseeing all publicity efforts for the label and its artists, with the goal of driving discovery, enhancing their profiles, and increasing brand awareness. This role entails managing the publicity strategies for the artists, handling the label’s corporate communications, and coordinating with external publicists.
RESPONSIBILITIES Areas that play to your strengths
All the responsibilities we'll trust you with:
Develop and execute publicity strategies for Red Bull Records artists, setting both short-term and long-term goals, as well as press targets, to enhance their public profile and increase exposure.
Obtain national and regional press coverage for the artists across various media platforms, including print, online, and television.
Coordinate invitations for artists to attend red carpet events, parties, and award shows to boost their visibility and recognition.
Ensure press attendance and secure media coverage for live performances, festivals, and other events.
Hire and oversee external PR firms as needed in regions such as the US, EU/UK, and the rest of the world (ROW).
Foster strong and authentic relationships with media outlets, leveraging these connections to benefit Red Bull Records and its artists. Develop a network of advocates and supporters for Red Bull Records and its talent.
Inform management teams and artists about the media landscape and the importance of publicity. Encourage artists and their teams to prioritize efforts related to public relations.
Manage press inquiries and organize interviews with artists, whether conducted remotely or in-person during designated press days.
Provide support by accompanying artists during press/promotional events and other relevant appearances.
Lead publicity and corporate communication initiatives for Red Bull Records, ensuring alignment with Red Bull's brand guidelines. Handle corporate PR inquiries and requests.
Pitch profiles and press coverage opportunities for key executives on the label team, including arranging panel appearances. Assist executives in preparing for such engagements.
Coordinate efforts and foster collaboration with global brand communication teams, distributing assets and scheduling interviews
across various brand verticals. Provide monthly label highlights for inclusion in brand newsletters.
Write press releases, media alerts, and other promotional materials for artists.
Maintain relationships with experienced writers to produce artist materials, such as biographies.
Prepare and distribute weekly press reports to internal and external teams.
Provide guidance to the coordinator in managing assets and reporting press coverage.
5+ years experience publicizing and promoting artists/entertainers. Proven track record of building an artist’s profile.
Experience in corporate communications, company and brand management, and developing executive profiles.
Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Exceptional writing and editing skills.
Proficient in negotiation, influence, and relationship management.
Experienced in crisis management, with the ability to make well-considered decisions under pressure.
Possesses a solid understanding of current global media trends and emerging media channels.
Self-motivated, capable of following through on assigned responsibilities, anticipating needs, and employing problem-solving skills.
Strong aptitude for effectively representing the company’s brand.
