Overview Director, Public Affairs – Policy, Communications & Advocacy (Healthcare & Life Sciences) at FTI Consulting. The role focuses on promoting day-to-day management of public affairs client accounts within the Healthcare & Life Sciences sector, aligning with the Public Affairs team to support policy, communications, advocacy, and reputational engagement in line with client goals.
As a Director, you will lead strategic efforts across account teams, providing high-level counsel on public policy, legislative strategy, communications and advocacy engagement, and helping clients navigate political and regulatory landscapes. You will develop and execute integrated communications strategies and prepare clients for high-stakes engagements with media, policymakers, and stakeholders, while collaborating with early career professionals to bring these efforts to life.
What You’ll Do Manage account teams and projects to oversee design and execution of innovative communications, research and engagement strategies and tactics.
Develop strategic proposals, communications plans, research, analysis and other work products for clients and new business prospects.
Serve as a primary client contact, providing strategic counsel in meetings, conference calls and on-site engagements.
Oversee project management and document development to ensure deadlines are met and objectives are achieved.
Anticipate client needs and concerns; work proactively with colleagues to address them.
Drive new business pursuits, including development of thought leadership, identification of business prospects and ongoing networking for the firm.
Support team training and professional development; serve as a performance manager to junior staff.

What You Will Need To Succeed Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, English or related business field
5+ years of relevant post-graduate professional experience
Experience in the Healthcare & Life Sciences sector is essential
Ability to travel to clients and FTI office(s) as needed
Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis; the employer will not sponsor applicants for work visas
Preferred Qualifications
Excellent writing skills
Strong time and priority management skills and ability to juggle multiple client accounts
Ability to convey information effectively and accurately, verbally or in writing
Computer proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel and Word
