Director, Production (Director, Animation Development) The Director, Production (Director, Animation Development) is responsible for overseeing aspects of animated film development for Disney Live Action (DLA).

Responsibilities: Supports senior executives in the development of animated films for streaming and theatrical release. Sourcing and assessing creative submissions, identifying concepts aligned with the Disney Live Action (DLA) vision. Collaborating with senior executives to develop projects from conception through production. Building and maintaining relationships with external sources, the creative community, and internal teams. Identifying talent through traditional and emerging research methods, including new technologies. Handling notes on films and completing research assignments for senior executives. Sourcing creative materials for review and development. Pitching projects internally and developing own projects under senior supervision. Reporting to a senior executive and possibly sharing an assistant. Requirements: Minimum of 5 years experience as a Creative Executive in animation development. Proven ability to source and assess creative concepts. Solid knowledge of the film production process. Extensive experience working with talent (writers, directors, producers, actors). Ability to identify compelling storylines and marketability. Strong interpersonal skills for managing relationships across levels. Understanding of global and multicultural audiences and content adaptation. Negotiation skills and resolution management. Highly organized with excellent follow-through skills. Ability to work onsite 5 days a week. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in animation feature development is highly preferred. The salary range in California is $117,900 - $152,400 annually, with potential bonuses and benefits. Compensation may vary based on location, experience, and other factors.
