Job Summary and Qualifications We’re seeking a Director of Product Design with deep, hands-on design leadership who’s ready to shape next-generation digital experiences through Vibe Coding and rapid prototyping using Lovable. In this high-impact role, you’ll lead a high-performing product pod design team while owning the full design lifecycle—from idea to code. You’ll drive design strategy across HCA’s Digital Transformation & Innovation initiatives, turning complex business needs into AI-enhanced, user-centered solutions. This Nashville-based role requires tight collaboration with product, engineering, and operations, and a bias toward shipping functional, lovable products fast—not just pixels, but real impact. What you will do in this role: Provide hands-on design leadership, actively contributing through Vibe Coding using Lovable from early concepts to shippable, lovable product experiences Lead end-to-end design strategy and execution across DT&I Domains and Pods, driving rapid prototyping and innovation through AI-integrated workflows Build and scale high-performing pod design teams within a flat hierarchy—hire, mentor, and inspire through vision, action, and modern toolchains Demonstrate deep expertise in human-centered design, grounded in behavioral psychology, accessibility standards, and scalable systems thinking Collaborate closely with product, engineering, and operations to co-own roadmaps, prioritize value delivery, and shorten time-to-impact Rapidly design and prototype future-state experiences using Lovable AI and emerging technologies to reduce friction and accelerate user value Apply systems thinking to ensure scalable, accessible, and consistent experiences across platforms and services Facilitate strategy and alignment workshops using functional MVPs and iterative prototypes to engage users and validate decisions early Partner with process improvement teams to transform insights into actionable solutions, optimizing efficiency, safety, and satisfaction Represent design at the executive level—articulating business impact, technical feasibility, and user value to drive alignment and investment What qualifications you will need: Bachelor’s in CS, Design, HCI, or related field - Required Master’s Degree - Preferred 10+ years of experience in UX, product, or service design, including 3+ years in design leadership or team lead roles Team leadership experience, including building, mentoring, and scaling high-performing design teams Skilled in prototyping tools (Lovable); frontend knowledge (HTML/CSS/JS/React) is a plus Portfolio demonstrating strategic thinking, hands-on execution, and measurable impact Work Location/Schedule: Nashville, TN area (near Centennial Park) Onsite: M-F, 8am-5pm Travel Required: This job may require up to 25% travel Visa Sponsorship: Not Offered "Good people beget good people."- Dr. Thomas Frist, Sr. HCA Healthcare Co-Founder We are a family 270,000 dedicated professionals!
