GENERAL FUNCTION: This key leadership position is responsible for all product and portfolio strategies to drive revenue growth and profit across the Bancorp for the assigned Bankcard HSA line of business (Credit Card, Debit/Prepaid, HSA). The role has overall responsibility for achieving the annual line of business profit plan. It involves developing long-term strategic growth plans focusing on customers, competition, profitability, risk management, product life cycle, and service considerations. The position leads product price setting, collaborates with business partners on enhancements, new product concepts, and market innovations. It coordinates activities across corporate areas to launch products, develops financial operating plans, projects profit and loss, and aims to meet annual sales objectives. Managing staff responsible for executing key growth strategies is also a core part of this role.
The position is responsible and accountable for risk management by fostering open communication, elevating concerns, and adhering to policies and procedures. It emphasizes doing right by customers and colleagues, ensuring actions and behaviors promote a positive customer experience. While operating within the Bank's risk appetite, the role involves consistently identifying, assessing, managing, monitoring, and reporting all types of risks.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Exercise direct supervision of assigned product, portfolio, marketing, sales, and analytics managers, working across the organizational matrix with risk, credit, operations, collections, and retail partners.
Manage the line of business P&L, providing guidance to Finance for analysis, projections, and budgeting.
Establish annual goals and objectives for key deliverables.
Oversee the implementation of new products and enhancements.
Develop and maintain product strategies and strategic plans.
Oversee pricing, profitability, and strategy models for portfolio performance.
Build and maintain relationships with key customers, internal partners, and vendors.
Lead cross-functional teams on complex development, implementation, and service issues.
Research competitor practices and pricing to ensure competitiveness and quality service.
Lead pricing committees as appropriate.
Monitor industry trends and conduct market research to understand customer needs.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide timely, candid, and constructive performance feedback, develop employees' potential, and offer growth opportunities. Develop talent pools for succession planning and recognize employee accomplishments.
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED: Bachelor's degree; MBA or other advanced degree preferred.
20+ years of relevant industry experience.
Deep understanding of product features, benefits, pricing, positioning, design, and advertising.
Proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Ability to manage credit risk/return trade-offs to optimize profitability.
Strong organizational, quantitative, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
Experience in influencing and negotiating outside of span of control.
