JOB SUMMARY The Director of Portfolio Strategy & Planning – ORV leads the development and execution of long-term product portfolio strategies that align with corporate and strategic business unit goals. This role builds strategic planning capabilities, guides innovation and technology planning, and sets product refresh cycles to ensure sustained growth, competitiveness, and customer relevance across the ORV portfolio. The Director also leads the visioning process for ORV, maintains platform health tools, and drives operational excellence in portfolio planning. Must have excellent business acumen and ability to influence senior-level stakeholders in a matrix environment to ensure flawless execution. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Portfolio Strategy Leadership Build and evolve portfolio strategy and planning capabilities across the ORV business. Align long-term product vision with corporate and business unit strategies and financial goals. Lead the visioning process for ORV, ensuring future product direction reflects customer needs, market trends, and innovation opportunities. Define and manage product-line guidance, including refresh cadence and lifecycle planning. Recommend and maintain a schedule for each platform to ensure consistent and strategic product updates. Strategic Planning & Execution Lead development of long-range product plans (LRPP) that support brand growth and profitability. Translate strategic insights into actionable portfolio decisions, including investment prioritization and resource allocation. Own monthly and annual LRPP activities, including forecasting and scenario planning. Develop and maintain the Platform Health and Lifestyle Position Tool to assess and communicate platform performance and strategic fit. Establish and manage Product Development Committee (PDC) cadence and meeting plans to drive alignment and decision-making across functions. Identify and propose a product portfolio planning software solution to enhance visibility, collaboration, and strategic execution. Organizational Leadership Influence and align cross-functional teams to drive strategic initiatives forward. Communicate portfolio strategy, decisions, and performance updates to senior leadership. Foster a culture of strategic thinking, innovation, and customer-centric planning. SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or Master’s degree strongly preferred 10+ years of experience in product strategy, portfolio planning, or related roles 3+ years director level experience preferred Proven leadership in cross-functional environments, ideally within powersports, automotive, or consumer durable goods Strong strategic thinking, analytical, and communication skills Experience with product lifecycle management, innovation planning, and market analysis Ability to influence at all levels and drive alignment in a matrixed organization Familiarity with tools and methodologies for strategic planning, forecasting, and portfolio management WORKING CONDITIONS Fast-paced, hybrid office environment Travel required as needed for planning and cross-functional alignment, 20% or less This position is not eligible for sponsorship The starting pay range for Minnesota is $167,000 to $230,000 per year. Individual salaries and positioning within the range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills, and geography.
