Our Operational excellence team has a mandate to drive down LCOE of future projects through delivery of operational and strategic levers. The Director, Operational Excellence will be tasked with working with business leaders across the organization to identify opportunities for transformative ideas and responsible for the delivery of the ideas that have the highest value.
In this role, you will make an important contribution to the analysis, design and implementation of initiatives, developing tailor‑made solutions and working closely with business leaders to ensure positive impact and sustainable results.
You will be responsible for reducing the LCOE of the three primary technologies deployed in the US (Wind, Solar, Storage) through the delivery of multiple initiatives.
In addition, you will also be responsible for driving digital initiatives including identifying the right technology solutions to support the project management office and the overall Operations Excellence program.
Role Responsibilities
Develop and drive initiatives with the business leaders to reduce the LCOE of the technology type you are focused on
Participate with senior business leaders in estimation of value of each initiative. This includes gathering and analyzing information, formulating and testing hypotheses, and developing models with the business leaders
Collaborate with senior business leaders in developing implementation roadmaps for the various initiatives identified; support the leaders in driving the initiatives to the maximum value for each projects
Support implementation of best practices across the industry to bring to RWE on the technology type
Work with your Operational Excellence colleagues to bring in ideas from other technologies and business units
Lead the identification and roll out plan for collaboration tools and softwares/digital solutions that compliment the work of the Operations Excellence group
Influence the codification of the approach for future waves of LCOE optimization; Capture an idea log to be used on future projects with impact sizing expectations
Job Requirements and Experiences
Master of Science/Engineering or Business Administration preferred
Minimum 10 years of highly relevant experience in the Oil & Gas or Electric Power/Natural Gas or Chemicals or Metals & Mining and Agriculture industries preferred.
Experience in project management of large scale operations transformations across departmental or business borders
Exceptional analytical and quantitative problem solving skills; Expertise with Microsoft Excel is a must
Ability to work effectively with people at all levels in an organization
Capable to communicate effectively verbally, visually and quantitatively, plus analytical and Consultive skills
Demonstrated leadership ability in a team environment. You should be someone who frequently takes initiative and is eager to break new ground
Expertise in designing & facilitating workshops and training sessions with a range of senior business stakeholders
Willingness to travel for certain meetings and workshops across US offices is expected ( avg ~once a month)
Languages: Fluency in business English
