Director of Worship Ministries

9/22/2025 The Director of Worship Ministries will collaborate with the Senior Minister to plan, direct, and implement worship services at Buford First UMC. Buford First is located in Gwinnett County and presently averages about 250 in worship. We have two worship services. While both have been traditional, we are seeking someone who can help us add some modern elements or transition one to a more blended service.

Qualifications:

Personal relationship with Christ and demonstrated commitment to discipleship Ability to disciple and grow a team that can lead a blended worship style Strong ability to lead vocally, instrumentally, and spiritually Appreciation and understanding of both traditional and modern worship styles Collaborative spirit to develop trust and community among staff, ministry teams you oversee, and church members Self-motivation and strong interpersonal skills 3-5 years of worship leadership experience A bachelor’s degree in music or its equivalent is preferred, but not required Agreement with the doctrine of The United Methodist Church Responsibilities: Actively recruit, develop, and mentor a team of worship volunteers, investing in their musical and spiritual growth Plan, direct, and lead all worship services of the church. Direct the Chancel Choir and Chancel Ringers (handbells) Develop a Praise Team to help lead worship Provide spiritual care for the worship teams by discipling, praying for, and training their members Implement new and creative elements in worship that encourage engagement and expressiveness Work closely with the Lead Pastor to guide the worship life of the church Maintain an inventory of instruments and AV equipment to ensure that they are in proper working condition Organize volunteers for weekly services (ushers, greeters, acolytes, sound, online persons, liturgists) To apply or for more information, reach out to Rev.
