Director of Workforce Innovation and Industry Partnerships
The Director of Workforce Innovation and Industry Partnerships works closely with the Dean for Career and Workforce Innovation to implement the vision of workforce development and education at Rockland Community College. This position has two core responsibilities: design in-demand workforce development training programs and develop and execute an impact-oriented employer and industry engagement strategy for the institution. This role will leverage industry partnerships to assist in enhancing the programs offered through hands-on learning, workshops and site visits, and job placement.
Responsibilities:
Develop and execute an institutional industry engagement strategy.
Design responsive workforce development programs tied to industry need.
Develop and enhance relationships with employers to increase career-connected learning opportunities for degree-seeking students.
Oversee and manage workforce related grants.
Strengthen the institution’s brand and deepen industry relationships in Rockland County and throughout the Hudson Valley.
Supervise all Workforce Innovation departmental staff.
Along with the Associate Director for Workforce Innovation, conduct research to evaluate the viability of new and existing workforce programs.
Perform program reviews with internal and external stakeholders on a continuous basis.
In collaboration with the Dean for Career and Workforce Innovation, create a pipeline from workforce programs to college credit coursework.
Oversee the accreditation processes for relevant programs.
Support revenue generation through tuition and employer-sponsored partnerships.
Oversee the daily operations of the department.
Develop strategic marketing and enrollment plans for workforce development programs.
Conduct evaluations and provide professional development opportunities for the staff.
In collaboration with the Dean for Career and Workforce Innovation and the Associate Director of Workforce Innovation, contribute to the department’s strategic goals and report on the key performance indicators.
Develop strategies for increased enrollment of microcredentials.
Enhance the formal evaluation and observation processes for workforce instructors.
Create a salary structure for all workforce instructors.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience:
Demonstrated experience working with diverse staff and students.
Interpersonal skills needed to effectively develop relationships with external stakeholders and working relationships as a supervisor.
Demonstrated leadership skills.
Effective communication skills, especially public speaking.
Experience with post-award grant processes and reporting.
Experience with data decision making.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
A master’s degree with at least two years of professional experience establishing and offering workforce development programs.
Documented experience with developing community and industry-based partnerships.
Ability to pursue funding opportunities to enhance student success and achieve the goals established for the department.
Demonstrated experience with assessment and evaluation.
At least two-three years of community college experience
Extensive experience collaborating with foundations, local governments, community-based organizations, and corporations.
Knowledgeable of the workforce needs for Rockland County constituents and local industry.
Experience leading and managing large scale projects.
Starting Salary: $80,000 - $85,000
