Job Description The Director for Undergraduate Studies for the School of Nursing (SON) in the College of Health leads a multi-campus team dedicated to educating the nursing professional workforce of Idaho, provides support for the day-to-day operations in the School of Nursing undergraduate program, and develops a vision for excellence in undergraduate nursing education, and assessing student learning outcomes in order to lead with exceptional vision and academic leadership abilities. This is an 12-month position and reports to the Associate Dean/Director of the School of Nursing and will be located at the main campus in Pocatello, Idaho. The Director of Undergraduate Studies provides leadership and day-to-day management of undergraduate nursing programs, including the Traditional BSN, BS Completion, and Accelerated BSN programs. This position is a clinical track faculty role with responsibilities in teaching, scholarship, and service. The Director works collaboratively with the Associate Dean and Director of the School of Nursing, as well as the Coordinator of the Accelerated BSN Program, to support high-quality program outcomes, maintaining strong relationships with clinical partners, contributing to the expansion of clinical placement opportunities across the state, and supporting the strategic growth of all nursing programs. In coordination with School of Nursing leadership, the Undergraduate Director ensures the effective management of the undergraduate nursing program and plays a critical role in maintaining ongoing AACN accreditation. This is an open-rank, clinical track faculty position eligible for promotion under current guidelines established by the School of Nursing, College of Health, Kasiska Division of Health Sciences, and Idaho State University. Key Responsibilities
Day to day management and leadership oversight of the undergraduate programs in Nursing including the traditional BSN program, BS completion program, and the Accelerated BSN program. [75%] Teaching of undergraduate nursing students in classroom and clinical [one course teaching expectation each semester including summer session. [10%] Participation in scholarship development individually or in an interprofessional team. [5%] Service to the SON. [10%] Minimum Qualifications MS in Nursing with two years teaching and/or educational leadership experience. Demonstrated ability to provide educational leadership at the baccalaureate level. Supervises: - Administrative Assistant for Undergraduate Studies. - Undergraduate Program Manager. - Program Admissions and Records Specialist for Undergraduate Programs. - Undergraduate Clinical Placement Coordinator.
Clinical Assistant Professor: - Master's in Nursing or Doctoral degree in Nursing. - Demonstrated ability to lead/manage undergraduate programs in nursing baccalaureate or higher. - Potential for scholarship, research, and grants/contracts. - Active unencumbered RN license in the state of Idaho. Clinical Associate Professor: -all of the above qualifications, plus -Doctorate in Nursing or a minimum of 3 years as Nursing Faculty
Preferred Qualifications Doctoral degree in Nursing. Experience with teaching baccalaureate level nursing students as well as supervisory and program coordinator experience.
