Orange County Community College (SUNY Orange) invites applications for a Project Director to lead its TRIO Student Support Services (SSS) program. This full-time position is funded through a federal TRIO SSS grant and is responsible for the strategic leadership, daily operation, and continuous improvement of a program that supports the academic success of low-income, first-generation college students and students with disabilities. The TRiO SSS program at SUNY Orange provides comprehensive services including a summer bridge/orientation experience, early academic skill assessments, individualized success plans, intensive academic coaching, peer mentoring, leadership development, cultural and educational enrichment, and online community-building platforms. Primary Responsibilities: Provide vision, oversight, and leadership for all aspects of the TRIO SSS grant program. Recruit, hire, train, and supervise professional and clerical staff. Design and manage student recruitment, assessment, and selection processes. Deliver coaching services to students and support their academic, personal, and professional development. Collaborate with the Institutional Planning, Assessment, and Research department to develop effective data tracking and reporting systems. Monitor program goals and performance metrics to ensure progress, accountability, and continuous improvement. Ensure full compliance with federal regulations and grant terms and conditions. Manage the program budget in alignment with institutional and federal policies. Promote awareness of program goals and impact across campus and in the broader community. Serve as the primary liaison to federal program staff. Participate in campus committees and meetings as needed.
Requirements:
Education Required: Master's Degree in higher education, education, psychology or related field. Experience Required: Three years administrative and supervisory experience in education or a related field. Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Worker Characteristics: Strong knowledge of grand development and administration Commitment to pluralism and the ability to support a diverse workplace Interest in the and ability to implement innovative practices Ability to work under pressure and prioritize competing demands Ability to track data and outcomes and present information in compliance with Federal requirements Ability to effectively establish and maintain working relationship with supervising personnel, co-workers, all college employees and the public.
