Summary ObjectiveThe Director of Training provides strategic leadership, oversight, and innovation for Hanna Institute’s training portfolio. This role designs, delivers, and scales high-impact training experiences that equip professionals and organizations to integrate trauma-informed principles into their work. The Director is responsible for supervising trainers, managing partnerships, developing curriculum, ensuring operational excellence, and positioning Hanna Center as a national thought leader in trauma-informed practice.
Key Responsibilities- Strategy & Leadership
- Develop and execute a vision for Hanna’s training programs aligned with organizational mission and revenue goals.
- Supervise and mentor trainers and program staff, fostering professional growth and accountability.
- Contribute to organizational strategy, business development, and thought leadership in trauma-informed care and workplace wellness.
- Training Design & Delivery
- Lead the development of evidence-based, culturally responsive, and trauma-informed curricula.
- Ensure trainings meet the diverse needs of audiences (educators, healthcare providers, social service agencies, youth workers, leaders, etc.).
- Oversee delivery of in-person and virtual workshops, conferences, and courses, maintaining high standards of engagement and accessibility.
- Partnership & Outreach
- Build and maintain strong relationships with community partners, school, and organizational leaders.
- Represent Hanna Institute at conferences, convenings, and professional networks.
- Expand the reach of Hanna’s training portfolio through strategic partnerships and outreach efforts.
- Operations & Administration
- Oversee training logistics, scheduling, and evaluation processes.
- Ensure compliance with CEU requirements and other credentialing standards.
- Manage contracts, billing, and reporting in partnership with Finance and Operations.
- Monitor program metrics, budgets, and outcomes, providing regular reports to leadership.
- Education & Licensure
- Master’s degree in psychology, social work, counseling, education, or related field required; doctorate preferred.
- Licensed professional (LCSW, LMFT, LPCC, or equivalent) strongly preferred.
- Experience
- 5+ years of progressive leadership experience in training, behavioral health, education, or nonprofit program management.
- Proven record of designing and delivering impactful training or professional development programs.
- Demonstrated expertise in trauma-informed care, resilience science, or related frameworks.
- Experience supervising and mentoring diverse teams.

- Ability to cultivate partnerships, steward clients, and represent Hanna in public forums.

- Deep knowledge of trauma-informed practices and resilience, with skill in making concepts practical and accessible.
- Proven ability to design evidence-based curricula and deliver engaging, high-quality learning across formats and audiences.
- Adept at building relationships, representing the organization, and expanding training reach through partnerships.
- Strong organizational, compliance, and administrative skills to ensure smooth, accurate program delivery.
- Exceptional public speaking, writing, and relationship-building skills to inspire, engage, and position Hanna as a leader.
- Commitment to embedding equity and cultural sensitivity into training, strategy, and community work.
- Flexibility to manage strategy and details, respond to change, and innovate for greater impact.
Typical office and clinical environment. Responsibilities may include offsite meetings, trainings, or other activities as required by business needs.
