Virtus Healthcare Staffing is supporting the recruitment efforts for an open Director of Surgical Operations position at a leading hospital-based surgical services department in San Antonio, TX. This full-time leadership role offers the opportunity to oversee surgical operations across one to two departments on a 24-hour basis and may qualify for a sign-on bonus.

Requirements:

Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing required
- Master's degree in Nursing, Business, or a related field preferred
Licensure & Certification:
- Active Texas RN license required
- Specialty or administration certification preferred
- Active BLS certification through ARC or AHA (AHA required within 60 days of hire)
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of clinical experience in surgical services or related discipline
- 3-5 years of progressively responsible management experience strongly preferred
Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills to drive operational excellence and quality outcomes

Key Responsibilities:

Plan, organize, and direct the daily operations of assigned surgical departments on a 24-hour basis
Oversee departmental budgets, staffing, resource utilization, and equipment management to ensure efficient operations
Recruit, develop, and manage assigned staff while fostering a positive, high-performance culture
Monitor quality metrics and lead performance improvement initiatives to achieve superior patient outcomes
