Director of Student Success

The Director of Student Success shall have the responsibility of creating and implementing an academic success plan in support of individual PA and DMS students as well as each cohort, respectively. Utilizing excellent communication and collaborative skills, the DSS shall have students referred to them by the Director of Didactic Education (DDE) and/or the Director of Clinical Education (DCE) in order to intervene with students who are deemed “at risk” or failing courses, after appropriate mentorship from within the program. The DSS shall develop schedules to work closely with students who have been referred to them for the purpose of academic counseling using a wide range of instructional activities, materials, services, and strategies to assist the student in the successful completion of his/her training. The DSS shall create metrics to assess for successful intervention and present reports to program faculty and staff as well as SMS leadership. Required Qualifications *MS degree or higher in education, school or counseling psychology, or a relevant medical field; *ability to communicate effectively to a variety of constituents Preferred Qualifications *Doctoral degree in education, school or counseling psychology, or a relevant medical field Physical Demands Job Duty Job Duty *mentor students on successful study habits by evaluating the content, and making recommendations on best practices for successful assimilation; Job Duty *develop methods for successful presentation to students that facilitate improved study strategies; Job Duty *responsible for the research, development, and assessment of student success strategies and activities; Job Duty *coordinate auxiliary services to ensure the total coverage of needed student services; Job Duty *assess unique student needs and work with students to implement success strategies for program completion; Job Duty *assist with curricular review and curricular institutional improvement strategies; Job Duty *use innovative methods to provide students with the assistance, guidance, and resources necessary to be successful; Job Duty *provide personalized academic advising to at-risk students with development of an academic plan; Job Duty *PA program or DMS lectures as assigned; Job Duty *assist with clinical year student success plans; Job Duty *chair the student success committee Job Duty *other duties as assigned Job Duty *promote the mission of Lincoln Memorial University to all faculty, staff, students, and to the community at large; Job Duty *promote effective working relationships among faculty, staff, and students; Job Duty *comply with faculty/staff policies and procedures; Job Duty *work with the LMU SMS faculty and staff on an ongoing basis to maintain program compliance with the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) criteria for accreditation and reaccreditation; Job Duty *provide committee service; Posting Detail Information
