The Director of Student Success shall have the responsibility of creating and implementing an academic success plan in support of individual PA and DMS students as well as each cohort, respectively. Utilizing excellent communication and collaborative skills, the DSS shall have students referred to them by the Director of Didactic Education (DDE) and/or the Director of Clinical Education (DCE) in order to intervene with students who are deemed “at risk” or failing courses, after appropriate mentorship from within the program. The DSS shall develop schedules to work closely with students who have been referred to them for the purpose of academic counseling using a wide range of instructional activities, materials, services, and strategies to assist the student in the successful completion of his/her training. The DSS shall create metrics to assess for successful intervention and present reports to program faculty and staff as well as SMS leadership.
