Job Responsibilities
Provide options for counseling and confidential services to any University affiliates (and their families) that are victims of crime or are negatively impacted by a critical incident.
Collaborate with the Office of the Provost for University Life, the Associate President for Equity and Title IX Officer and investigative officers, the Chaplain, Sexual Violence Prevention and Education (Penn Violence Prevention), Counseling and Psychological Services, The Center for Community Standards and Accountability (Student Conduct), Human Resources, Office of Religions and Ethnic Interests (Title VI), Employee Assistance Program, and other key stakeholders.
Work with the Office of the Vice President in DPS to supervise and manage the Speaker’s Bureau and all operations and scheduling of DPS presentations.
Supervise and manage the victim Advocate positions and Victim Advocate Coordinator, and oversee the Mental Health CoResponder Program within DPS, Special Services.
Manage all court accompaniment duties and processes.
Supervise and manage Self Defense programs, including all instructors and operational activities.
Liaise with the University of Pennsylvania Police Department, Philadelphia Police Department, the Philadelphia District Attorney's Office, and other federal, state, and local agencies.
Work with the Office of the Vice President to supervise and manage DPS special events and the DPS staff involved in special events.
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
Master’s Degree, preferably in Social and Behavioral Science, and a minimum of 5 years' experience assisting victims of crime or an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
Demonstrated knowledge of the criminal justice system.
Must possess strong written and verbal communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities with discretion and attention to detail.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.
Position requires working a flexible work schedule, which will typically include working some evening and weekend hours, as well as being on call on a rotation schedule.
A valid driver’s license is required, and the ability to respond quickly from home during emergency situations and while on-call are required.
The candidate must successfully complete a background investigation, including criminal background check, and must sign a confidentiality statement.

$133,000.00 - $133,000.00 Annual Rate Salary offers are made based on the candidate’s qualifications, experience, skills, and education as they directly relate to the requirements of the position, and in alignment with salary ranges based on external market data for the job’s level. Internal organization and peer data at Penn are also considered.
