As we expand across Rhode Island, Massachusetts, and Connecticut, we are seeking a strategic and hands-on Director of Sales to lead our growing team and drive the next phase of our regional growth.
Position Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Sales to lead and scale our outside sales organization, with a strong focus on driving strategic growth into new markets. This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for building a high-performing field sales team, optimizing sales processes, and delivering measurable revenue growth in a fast-paced, service-driven environment.
The ideal candidate is a proven sales leader with a strong background in field-based or home services sales, exceptional coaching and team development skills, and the strategic mindset to identify and capitalize on new market opportunities.
While the primary focus is on outside sales, experience in building and scaling inside sales functions is a strong advantage and will be highly valued as we grow.
This role will work cross-functionally with teams across marketing, operations, recruiting, and customer care to ensure tight alignment on go-to-market strategies, customer experience, and operational execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of 3+ outside sales representatives with a focus on performance, accountability, and development
- Develop and execute sales strategies for Rhode Island, Eastern Massachusetts, and Eastern Connecticut, with planned expansion into Central MA and CT
- Design and help implement a scalable inside sales function to support lead conversion and territory coverage
- Analyze territory performance and market trends to identify opportunities for growth and improvement
- Set, monitor, and report on sales KPIs, forecasts, and team productivity metrics
- Coach and support sales reps through ride-alongs, pipeline reviews, and regular 1:1s
- Partner cross-functionally with the Marketing Team to align on lead generation strategy and brand positioning
- Collaborate closely with the Director of People Operations to align hiring goals and sales team headcount with business growth
- Work in close coordination with the Customer Care and Service Manager to ensure sales strategies align with operational capabilities and customer experience standards
- Report regularly to company leadership on sales performance, market trends, and team development

- 5+ years of sales leadership experience, primarily focused on managing outside sales teams, preferably in pest control, lawn care, or residential/home services
- Proven success driving territory growth
- Experience building or scaling an inside sales team, separate from customer care, is highly desirable
- Strong coaching, performance management, and goal-setting expertise
- Strategic mindset with willingness to roll up sleeves in a growing organization
- Ability to work from Smithfield, RI office with regional travel as needed
- Effective collaboration skills across marketing, operations, HR, and service functions
- Experience using Smarterlaunch, Fieldroutes or similar industry specific CRMs.
