Director of Sales

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Director of Sales to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for strategically soliciting and developing new group and corporate accounts, maintaining exceptional rapport with existing clients, and driving top-line revenue to meet or exceed targets. Reporting to the General Manager, this position requires a proactive sales professional focused on client development, identifying new market trends, and maximizing hotel revenue through strategic sales efforts. Responsibilities
Drive top-line revenue growth by meeting and exceeding budget expectations within the group business market.
Proactively solicit, prospect, and qualify new business leads through cold calls, sales blitzes, and other sources.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with new and existing accounts to ensure repeat business and guest satisfaction.
Manage the full sales cycle, from lead generation and sales presentations to proposal creation and contract negotiation.
Represent the hotel within the local community, attending networking functions, trade shows, and industry events to build a strong professional network.
Collaborate with the culinary and operations teams to plan and execute flawless events, including creating profitable menus and conducting BEO meetings.
Conduct regular market analysis to monitor the competitive set, identify industry trends, and adjust sales strategies accordingly.
Prepare and present weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports detailing sales activities, results, and forecasts.
Conduct site inspections for potential clients, showcasing the property’s features and amenities.
Qualifications
Minimum of 3 years of progressive hotel sales experience, preferably in a full-service hotel environment. Catering sales experience is a significant asset.
Proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales goals and revenue targets.
Deep knowledge of the hospitality market, including key customers and competitive trends. Local market knowledge is preferred.
Exceptional selling, negotiation, and presentation abilities.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to build and foster a positive team environment.
Highly motivated, self-directed professional with a strong desire for achievement.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a focus on outstanding customer service.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Experience with PMS systems (like Opera Cloud) and sales/catering software (like Event Temple) is highly preferred.
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays, and travel as required.
