JOB OVERVIEW : The Director of Sales oversees and directs operation-wide sales to ensure the highest image standards and gain maximum exposure. Supervises and works with sales staff, formulates media schedule, marketing plan and advertising campaign which directly impacts the operation's targeted markets and maximizes revenue potentials. REPORTS TO : General Manager ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Establish and implement Sales and Marketing Plan and the underlying Budget . Maximize exposure and revenue objectives established by the Budget. Set and maintain brand standards across marketing mediums Evaluate and recommend appropriate marketing opportunities including broadcast, print, radio and TV opportunities. Create Club Event promotions, flyers, signs, posters and other marketing materials Formulate operation-wide media schedule. Approve ad placement and copy, and continuously monitor and revise placement based on the economic situation, market conditions and competition. Directly train, supervise and motivate sales staff to achieve or exceed sales goals and increase public relations awareness of all operation entities. Orchestrate course site visits and video and photo shoots. Establish packages, pricing, events, and sales direction to achieve or exceed sales goals. Meet with event prospects and sell events at Shangri-La through on-site visits, phone calls and trade shows. Return event inquiry and advertising phone messages & emails. Evaluate all special events opportunities, determine the return on investment and set negotiate pricing. Create and distribute BEO's Coordinate and Manage Events. Complete and send billing for events Send thank you notes and follow up on all group functions to ensure that the appropriate quality and level of service are being provided. Deal with any client or guest concerns. Conduct Event Profit Analysis Manage Resources and Capacity for Shangri-La Events to avoid over-booking/over-extending staff and Club space/resources Attend weekly (more often as needed) meetings with Chef and F&B Director - review any changes to upcoming events, ensure BEO's are correct and review costing Make regular Facebook postings for all Shangri-La entities Take candid club photos for use on Facebook, in newsletter and in other marketing communications Update Weekly Event Calendar for tracking and weekly staff meeting Develops and leads a strategic membership development program designed to increase total membership count and membership dues revenue. Assists in the development and implementation of advertising and promotional campaigns designed to generate membership sales. Effectively communicates with management staff and associates to increase knowledge of membership goals, membership satisfaction, membership retention, and membership activities. Monitors business volume forecast and plans accordingly in areas of manpower, productivity, costs and other expenses Work very closely with our Preferred Real Estate company and other realtors to introduce qualified, potential buyers to the club. Work with the entire membership to identify prospective members and promote referrals of their friends and business associates to the Club and community by promoting and administering the "Stay and Play" program. REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Related experience is preferred but not required. Must be 18 years of age or older. Must be able to pass a background check. Must be able to maintain professional status through interface with customers, management, and co-workers. Must be able to work flexible schedules, including but not limited to extended hours, irregular shifts, evenings, holidays, and/or weekends. Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly is required to stand and walk for extended periods; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee occasionally is required to sit; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and lift more than 25lbs. Physical stamina and a proper mental attitude to work under pressure at a fast pace are essential. Must have the mental fortitude to handle the pressures of multiple tasks while providing excellent guest service. Work Environment: The duties of this position are primarily performed in indoor climate conditions.
