We are seeking a Director of Sales to lead sales strategy development in collaboration with the Strategic Account Manager, oversee brand management, and manage both the customer service and application engineering teams. This role requires a leader who can drive revenue growth, ensure brand consistency, enhance customer satisfaction, and provide technical guidance through the application engineering team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sales leadership, cross-functional team management, and strategic brand positioning.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Strategy & Collaboration:
Develop and execute a national sales strategy to grow market share in commercial HVAC air distribution products.
Lead and manage a team of regional sales managers and manufacturer's reps across various territories.
Build and maintain strong relationships with HVAC contractors, mechanical engineers, distributors, and specifying professionals.
Work closely with the Strategic Account Manager to align sales strategies within designated MSAs, ensuring market-specific approaches.
Identify and pursue new business opportunities and market segments, including vertical markets like healthcare, education, and commercial real estate.
Monitor market trends and competitor activities to refine sales strategies and maximize brand positioning.
Analyze sales data, market trends, and competitor activity to inform decision-making.
Brand Management: Ensure brand consistency across all sales and marketing initiatives.
Collaborate with marketing teams to align sales efforts with brand positioning and messaging.
Oversee brand performance metrics and adjust strategies to enhance market presence.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Performance Tracking: Collaborate with marketing, engineering, and product development teams to align sales efforts with company goals.
Analyze sales data, customer feedback, and technical performance metrics to optimize strategies.
Conduct regular sales forecasting, budgeting, and performance reporting.
Participate in key trade shows and industry events to promote brand visibility and develop leads.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives across all managed teams.
Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field; MBA a plus.
Minimum of 7 - 10 years in sales leadership, brand management, or technical sales.
Proven track record of managing national sales operations and leading successful teams.
Strong leadership and team management abilities.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
Strong network of industry contacts in mechanical contracting, engineering, and distribution channels.
Technical proficiency in application engineering and product solutions.
Customer service expertise with a focus on client satisfaction.
Ability to analyze market trends and adjust strategies accordingly.
Willingness to travel as needed.
