Avir at Kerrville - Avir Health Group is currently seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Director of Rehabilitation to join our in-house team of exceptional professionals at Avir at Kerrville. DOR Responsibilities:
· Rare in-house therapy program, unique opportunity
· Lead, orient and mentor all therapy staff
· Review all relevant data and utilize clinical judgement to ensure appropriate delivery of therapy care to maximize outcomes and meet desired goals at discharge
· Plan accordingly to schedule staff based on clinical needs and coordinate treatment activity of staff members
· Demonstrate strong clinical knowledge and understands the role of rehabilitation for all therapy disciplines
· Ensure accuracy, timeliness and organization of all departmental paperwork, including conducting documentation audits
· Prompt preparation and delivery of any regular or ad hoc reports
· Projects a positive and professional image at all times
· Reports to work on time and coordinates schedule to achieve maximum efficiency
· Establish and promote clinical programs/enhancement as indicated
· Adheres to established confidentiality standards
· Engage in recruiting interviews, employee development, goal setting, constructive feedback, corrective actions, performance appraisals
· Work pro-actively to manage and build PRN pool, contact and schedule as needed
· Participate in facility and company meetings
· Ability to analyzes interpret and achieve budget expectations on a consistent basis
· Assure staff all understand and are compliant with the Federal, State and Local laws, rules and regulations related to therapy service delivery
· Provide a safe environment to utilize tools and equipment in a safe manner complying with all infection control, universal precautions and standards for the healthcare professional
· Develop professional working relationships with staff, facility team members, residents, and resident family members
What Makes You a Great Fit We’re seeking someone who:
Is a licensed Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist, COTA, or Speech-Language Pathologist (required).
Has previous leadership experience in a long-term care or rehabilitation setting (preferred).
Demonstrates strong organizational, communication, and team-building skills.
Is familiar with Medicare, Medicaid, and alternative payment model guidelines.
Can deliver high-quality patient care while leading a dynamic therapy team.
Is proactive, compassionate, and driven to achieve positive outcomes for residents.
